the computer code that produced the attack appears to have similarities to the code north korea used in an attack last year. but it's still unclear who's behind the massive attack. the cyberattack has impacted more than 300-thousand computers in 150 countries. just a few hundred companies appear to have followed the hackers' directions to pay 300 dollars or more in ransom. and that's turned out to be a scam too. the hack was first detected on friday. it spread to thousands of additional computers yesterday, mostly in china, india, and russia. but the pace of the rogue software's advance appears to be subsiding, at least temporarily. happening today.. federal investigators will be at the scene of a deadly plane crash near a small airport outside new york city. yesterday's fiery crash in carlstadt, new jersey killed the two pilots on board. and it caused

the hazing death of a new york college student-- are now waiting to learn their fate. the men charged pleaded guilty yesterday to voluntary manslaughter in the death of 19-year-old chen michael deng. they're accused of beating deng during a hazing ritual in 20-13, then trying to cover up the crime as he lay dying. defense attorneys called deng's death a fraternity prank gone horribly awry. theyn all face up to 3 years in prison when they are sentenced in december. covering metro.. the transit agency is facing yet another problem. it involves machines called chillers, which keep riders cool. the chillers are located 30 feet beneath connecticut avenue. as part of the system, pipes carry water between the chillers and a cooling station more than 11 stories high. but the pipes are broken, and replacing them will
